Housing
UMUMR
has developed partnerships with VA United Methodist
Housing Development Corp. and Wesley Housing Development
for the construction and operation of mixed income,
affordable housing in Metro Richmond”.
Additional partners will be engaged on a
project by project basis.
Developments will engage a comprehensive
community development model to consider social,
economic, spiritual and physical elements in design and
construction
Housing developments are being discussed, planned, and
designed for the
Highland Park
(north side) and Ampthill (south side) neighborhoods,
and other locations across the
Richmond
region.

Individuals or groups
may choose to:
- Contribute financially to support the housing
partnership & program(s)
- Provide volunteers to assist with construction projects
- Provide mentors with construction
contracting/supervision skills
- Support the ministry of Embrace
Richmond, a UMUMR partner that provides a
long-term community of support for families in
transition as they exit Richmond area homeless
shelters. In addition to one-on-one and team based
mentoring, families are provided furniture and
household items through Embrace Richmond’s
distribution center. Congregations may place a
temporary a POD storage unit on their property to
receive furniture and household items.
